Zapping with an eco-friendly bolt: ZAP XEBRA

zap xebra

Now here is a car on three wheels (I wonder if we can still call it a car, but I will for now) that seems to be in a bit of a doldrums. ZAP is the company that has offered this 3 wheeled electric car as an eco-friendly option to those people that need a car just for short distances. Now, firstly I can’t help but talk about the name of this piece of metal. Now I know people do feel, “what’s in a name?” But that exactly is my point too. What is in the name is “the feel” itself. What in this world is “Xebra” supposed to mean?

I know that my readers are brilliant & have a great understanding of all worldly matters & beyond (Like the writer, so the readers), so If anyone of you out there knows the meaning let me know. Before I move further let me tell you that officially Xebra is just a 3-wheeled scooter. (Yes, that is to avoid some paper work) In my opinion, ZAP, with release of Xebra, has somehow shot itself in the foot. The car runs on electric energy & needs batteries. It can go to a maximum of 40 mph & that will not amuse anyone, to say the least. I have heard that the water-proofing is not great & its batteries are not much good either.

As far it being an electric-car goes, the concept is fine. But with so many better cars shifting to Hydrogen-Fuel technology & other hybrid fuel, this car seems a drag. I do not like lead batteries at all. They just amount to toxic waste. Xebra will disappear & disappear at a pace that is much greater than its miserly top speed of 40 mph. I really can’t think of what ZAP were planning, when they announced its launch. If you ask me, I would strongly suggest you buy a bicycle instead of this. The only bolt this car will finally zap is the one on the company itself, pushing it further back. Now I know what “Xebra” means. It means “Xtinct Zebra”. Why has a Zebra come up here? Because my research tells me that the top speed of a Zebra is around 65 Km/hr. That roughly converts to 40.39 mph, which is the top speed of Xebra. Ok, even a Zebra is faster than this thing! No need to thank me people for that information.
