Yinkana Renault 4 Bambou: A finalist entry for the Renault 4 competition

Renault 4 hosted a new competition and invited entries to re-design the classic Renault 4 model. The Renault 4 has a record of being the third best selling car in the history of automobiles and is iconic in itself. The Renault 4 w+as built on a very functional concept with a minimalistic look. The Renault 4 competition w+as looking for the same fundamental aspects in the entries along with a touch of the 21st century – making it a futuristic version of the Renault 4. The main purpose now would be to make it an environmentally-friendly vehicle and not another vehicle that promises to have ‘some’ green features. The Yinkana Renault 4 Bambou was one such entry that fitted the bill and w+as selected amongst one of the finalist entries!.

The Yinkana Renault 4 Bambou is designed by Kleist Frank from Germany and is an electric-powered four wheeler that is primarily made out of eco-friendly bamboo. The chassis of the car has a bamboo frame which is joined to the main body via titan connections. The body of the car is also made out of panels made out of bamboo plywood that are affixed to the frame of the car. The car has four doors and is a four seater that has two trunks located at the front and at the rear of the car. The electric engines are located in the wheels whereas the lithium-ion batteries are fixed on to the car floor.

The metallic and technical components such as the titan frame connections, the electric engines and the car batteries would be provided by Renault, whereas the bamboo frame and the entire body of the car would be manufactures in workshops. The Renault 4 Bambou would be relatively light in weight as it is made out of bamboo wood that would have less carbon footprint.

It is great to see that the automobile industry is gradually adopting greener ways to manufacture vehicles. They have decided upon using hybrid engines for their upcoming car models that would prove to be a blessing for the environment. Furthermore, having the car entirely manufactured by using eco-friendly materials such as bamboo – which is renewable in nature and abundant as well – would be the icing on the cake!

This fun car would be a great vehicle that could be used for personal transport or even as a taxi. The outer simple yet elegant appearance of the car gives it a very pleasant look as well! This ‘green’ car would be greatly looked forward to and would garner a lot of positive response as well!
