Wind energy production up by 24% during last year

The wind electricity-generating capacity at global level has increased by 24 percent in the year 2005 and touched the electricity production of 59,100 megawatts. The wind electricity generation, a decade back was around just 5,000 megawatts, and it has increased almost twelve fold since then.

Wind energy can become a substantial energy source for the world depending upon the climatic conditions. It has recorded an average annual growth rate of 29 percent in the last ten years.
