Although the number of landfills have decreased from 8000 in 1998 to 1700 in 2000, their average size has increased in the US. New Jersey based Vulcana’s concern for the environment has opened new horizons.

With successful attempt in making bags and many other products out of recycled tires, they have resolved to manufacture more such products.

The dumped tires are collected, devulcanised and mixed with rubber at a compounding factory in the US. Then it is cured as sheet rubber alone or with hemp. The whole processing involving different companies in carried out in the US except that hemp is obtained from Romania since it is illegal to grow hemp in the US.

These bags have been priced at a nominal rate of $79. Vulcana is not only earth friendly but in turn are also people friendly and animal friendly. However, what is most important is for the common people to realize the need for such eco-friendly innovations and resort to such alternatives.
