Visual magic: Defining nature with stunning gravity-defying art from Cornelia Konrads

They say that art imitates life and often it does reflect that way we perceive the world and how the world has shaped our own mind. But there are times when an artist looks beyond the usual and creates a body of work that redefines the world that surrounds us. Cornelia Konrads has created some amazing pieces of art that seem to find their way into the real world out of Hollywood’s page of science fiction. And the wonderful thing about his creations is that they seem to be close to nature and define the world around us with work that defies the natural laws.

Most of his work seems to work on the principle of levitation and of course he does not use any electronic circuits and magnetic fields to create this effect. All he does is use strings that create the feeling that objects such as wooden logs, snowballs, stones and bricks are beautifully floating in the air with no apparent support. The strings blend in seamlessly with the background to give you the impression of levitation and anyone who lays their eyes on the work of Cornelia Konrads is sure to be mesmerized.

And all of this creative genius’ work uses natural objects and biodegradable material along with recycle and discarded objects to craft the stunning visual effects. His most recent work too is a giant slingshot that utilizes an old park bench. Take one look at these images and you will be forgiven for believing that you are in a Harry Potter flick…
