It is believed to bring “firmness” to an intermittent and not entirely predictable renewable energy source like wind — which is though emission-free, is often criticized for not supplying power during the hot, still, humid days!
The give a shape to the innovative venture, the maker of a new type of battery system, the Vancouver-based Batteries VRB Power Systems Inc. has signed a $6.3 million deal last week with the developer of a 39-megawatt wind farm in Donegal, Ireland, Tapbury Management.
