Twist Bike: Pedal away with the bicycle sans hub and spokes

If the future is all about creating stylish minimalist gadgets that can woo you with sheer aesthetics, then the Twist Bike is an absolute fit. Designed by Jose Hurtado, the bike sports a very unique look with its lack of both hub and spokes. So, how much will you have to pedal it to ensure that it moves forward at an acceptable speed? Well, the designer has not really explained the mechanics of it in great detail, but we assume he was going more for form than function when he conjured up the Twist Bike.

Minimal Twist on the Hubless

The frame is simple, stylish and again crafted to impress the minimalists who love to keep things simple and straight. Seems like you can adjust the distance between your seat and the handle bars for various riding positions depending on your comfort factor and while the handle bars probably could have been placed a tad bit higher on it, the design seems to help you get into a more aerodynamic position.

Twist Bike’s unique design also seems to put quite a bit if stress on its gear system and while this is a concept creation maybe a better balance of mechanics and aesthetics could have been achieved to make the final product a lot more realistic. Of course, you cannot really comment on the functioning unless you have a prototype to test out and we would sure like to see one. Twist can link up with other similar units as well and maybe with an electric-assisted drive, this can compensate for the few technical glitches with ease.
