The computer’s dominance in our lives is hard to neglect. We depend on it for virtually every aspect of our working lives. Look around and you’ll see almost every urban individual sporting some gadget or the other that’s based on the PC. Whether it’s a smartphone, a tablet or notebook, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone who can live without these modern marvels.

Taking this obsession with computers to a new healthy level is Wahoo. The latest creation to be launched by the company is the Wahoo Bike Pack, which transforms your iPhone into a mini PC for your bike.
While such a technology isn’t new, what Wahoo is offering is economy with this version, which is cheaper than the iBike Dash CC, a similar device. Fitness freaks will be excited by the Bike Pack, which is far more stylish and sleek. Customers will get an iPhone case that’s water and shock resistant with full touchscreen access, a fitness app as well as a wireless cadence and speed sensor. Rubber liners in the case ensure that your smartphone fits snugly into the case.
The Wahoo Bike Pack supports iPhone 3G and 3GS and the 4 series. Easily mountable on your bike’s handlebars, the pack has a quick release bracket which can be manipulated to either portrait or landscape views.
The case has an ANT+ radio transceiver, which links the iPhone to the sensor. What’s more, riders of recumbent bikes can also modify the sensor to fit properly. According to Wahoo, the sensor is waterproof up to five feet of depth and can transmit signals from a 10 foot distance. If that’s not enough for you, you’ll be happy to know that the transceiver is compatible with ANT+ fitness measuring devices too.
The Wahoo Bike Pack retails for a price of $150 and comes with a micro USB port and the free fitness app.
