Yesterday we discussed about the runners up for eVolo Skyscraper Competition, but this ardently ingenious yet meticulously practical conception conceived by Atelier CMJN studio, led by Julien Combes, went past others to take the top spot at the competition. This fantastic contrivance planned for the capital of India – Delhi, will basically be a giant Ferris wheel, constructed of recycled cars, with a grandiose wind turbine imbued inside the rim of the mammoth structure!

Named as the LO2P, this fastidious greenhouse building will actually be an sustainable amalgamation of a recycling plant, a power plant and a giant air purifier. The structure will use ‘retired’ recycled car components as its building material. The base of the tower will produce waste heat and carbon dioxide, which in effect will be utilized by the greenhouse to produce food and precious bio-fuel. Hence, the total energy output would nullify the effect of carbon emission.

The exterior facade will incorporate photo-voltaic cells along with a huge wind turbine fastened at the axis for clean and green renewable energy generation. And at last but not the least, a system of rotating filters will be integrated within the structure to purify the polluted air. Such an installation would be the first of its kind in India, and could prove to be an enduring yet conscientious effort, especially if we consider the remarkable pollution levels of Delhi.
