Alternative fuels have been gaining a lot of media attention lately. Now, the technology that is needed to swap oil based energy is finally in our hands. We could very seen see an air car and a water car to address the mounting environmental concerns. The very first commercial compressed air car (zero pollution car) is on the verge of production. For the air car, MDI has signed a deal with Tata Motors of India. The MiniC.A.T is a simple, lightweight urban car, with a tubular chassis that is glued and a body of fibre-glass. Well, MDI is a small Carros based firm where Guy and Cyril Negre have developed the engine technology and the car too. I’d be interested to hear about the efficiencies of compressed air vs. batteries for energy storage.
