The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is to go green with solar energy system to be installed at 12 entrances of the Bird’s Nest Stadium. And Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. has got the exclusive contract to supply a 130KW solar energy system for the game.
This venture of China clearly reveals the country’s awareness and serious commitment towards the environment – be it clean, renewable energy or holding a green Olympics! A similar view is also held by Dr. Zhengrong Shi, Suntech’s chairman and CEO. He said,
We are delighted that Suntech’s leading PV system has been chosen to help power the main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
