Can a man try harder to generate nature than this attempt right here? A man’s desperation with an underlying guilt of doing more harm than good to mother earth is clearly manifested in this endeavor of Studio Kita and Sanyo to create photovoltaic foliage showcased at Milan. The artificial leaves on this man-made plant have solar panels or HIT, heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer that’s the world’s highest power generating cell per sqaure centimeter.

The sunlight that so falls on the leaves is converted into energy to recharge upto 48 AA batteries placed at the installation center. The entire apparatus is 375 centimeter high and has a unique aesthetic feature that lights up the device with LEDs and is also equipped with an LCD screen to display progress of battery-charging process. Thank god for the fact that all the technology now uses optimum energy utilization as its focal point, the age old wisdom goes, better late than never.
