Steampunk Video Chair is made from everything recycled

Combining the best from all the worlds might seem complicated, but it’s not impossible. And, designer Stephan J. Smith has validated this by designing the Steampunk Video Chair. The chair boasts of fusing together creativity, aesthetics, utility and passion for using recycled stuff. It’s not just a cool piece of furniture for your living space; it also provides great ergonomic pleasure and comfort.

Corrugated Steampunk Video Chair

The appearance of the chair has been influenced by the Steampunk genre. It has a steamy look, with brown overalls that give it leather like feel, even though it is paper. All other materials used for the chair are recycled and repurposed. The main frame of the chair is made from cut out and laminated corrugated cardboard. It has been given a strong cross support with the help of six thick walled cardboard mailing tubes. All this when glued together, keeps the chair lightweight and also sturdy enough to hold as much mass as required.

To make the tubes look better, they have been covered with old paper company swatchbooks in red. Also for better balancing, flat chunks of cement have been placed under the seat. For the padding of the seat, cylindrical shaped factory scrap foam has been cut longitudinally and draped in scrap fabric.

It will complement well with any décor; it provides great comfort, is great for the environment and uses all recycled stuff.
