Eco Factor: Low-emission rescue vehicle powered by a hybrid drivetrain.
Designed by Sasank Gopinathan the SRV-P1 or Phase-1 Special Rescue Vehicle heralds a new genre of rescue vehicles for the year 2025. The vehicle aims to provide initial aid to residents of an earthquake-devastated area, until full-scale rescue operations commence.
The single-seat vehicle includes room for a stretcher and can also fly over short distances, where the terrains are not fit for driving. The vehicle has been designed especially for off-road conditions. The supply storage compartment comes with clamshell doors and can store enough medical supplies along with a stretcher.
All the four wheels of the vehicle are equipped with in-wheel electric motors and can be independently steered for better maneuverability. The internal combustion propeller engines run on biofuel and the flywheel dynamos generate electricity when propellers rotate freely. The power generated by the process is used to refuel the vehicle’s onboard batteries.
