Bicycle use has increasingly become a viable option for traveling with out hurting your environment as well as your pockets. Though green car concepts are flooding the market with exceptional well designed models, the common man’s vehicle, the bicycle, isn’t lagging behind too. If you don’t want to get stuck in traffic even in the forthcoming era of green traveling, then here’s a smart option of Split Urban Bicycle. Designed by Gregoire Vandenbussche, it is primarily a divisible bicycle concept. You can literally split it up in two halves and make the best of either of them. The front component can be used as a shopping basket or just a carrier to tag your stuff along…..on a single wheel.
For those with the need to travel by bus or train to longer distances can also take this split version along with them as the latter can stay back at the bicycle parking lot at the station and the front part can travel with you as a luggage.
And who dare steal just the half part of the bicycle…..thus making it theft proof too to a certain extent.
Also you can split it in two parts and stuff it in the trunk of your car to take it along.
Short listed for the International Bicycle Design Competition (Taiwan), it also features a belt transition for more flexibility and 3 automatic speed in the hub.
