It is not just enough to own an LCD or LED screen to save on power consumption anymore. You need to go a step further and take it to the next level. Samsung has decided to now unleash a 46-inch LCD screen that is solar-powered. You need not put the screen in the lawn to have it powered up. It can be powered just by ‘ambient lighting’ and that indicates the level to which Samsung has taken energy saving.
The Solar-powered display from Samsung was on show lately. This 46-inch behemoth is not just green technology, but cutting edge, no matter which way you look at it. Demoed at CeBIT 2011, the screen not only is powered by clean energy but supports full HD resolution (1920×1080 pixels) as well as providing with a full ten finger touchscreen surface.
Samsung is looking to expand such green power technologies to other gadgets as well. It takes plenty of techno-tweaking to get gadgets to run on such low energy output and Samsung has done exceedingly well in designing hardware components to achieve this. Now, hopefully, we will see a consumer ready product with this technology soon enough!
