Eco Factor: Eco-friendly bicycle integrates electric motor to ease commute.
Daimler’s Smart division has unveiled a new electric-assist bicycle at the Paris Motor Show. The new e-bike offers four levels of pedal assistance via a 250W hub motor. Designed in conjunction with German electric bike manufacturers Grace, the Smart Ebike weights about 22kg and can hit a speed of about 25kph.
The electric bike also includes integrated front LED light that follows the steering movement of the handlebar. A rear LED light has also been integrated into the saddle to make night riding safer. The Smart Ebike is being claimed to have a range of about 90km and its onboard battery pack can be recharged in three hours.
