Eco Factor: Researchers produce biobutanol from whiskey by products.
Researchers at the Edinburgh Napier University in the Scotland are using rather interesting ingredients to produce biobutanol. They are using whiskey by products such as pot ale and draff to fill up your fuel tank. The development promises to put to good use 1,600 million litres of pot ale and 187,000 tons of draff produced annually by whiskey industry. The find out is particularly good because butanol has more energy than ethanol and can be used in gasoline engines without modification, The research is an entirely wining proposition for it would use waste resources purposefully and also help reduce vehicle emissions.
