Eco Factor: Zero-emission concept car to be powered by an electric engine.

The latest from the design house of Swiss car visionary Frank M. Rinderknecht is the BamBoo concept, which is just as unique as the company’s other concepts that are showcased at the Geneva Motor Show. The Rinspeed BamBoo, which the company calls a grown-up golf cart, is powered by electricity and will be showcased at the next Geneva Motor Show, which runs from March 3rd through 13th, 2011.

The four-seater BamBoo is an open-top vehicle that awakens the longing for easiness and lightness. The retro-designed vehicle flaunts interiors made from sustainable bamboo fibers, while its electric engine promises zero tailpipe emissions.

The BamBoo will be powered by LiFePO4 batteries that have a maximum power output of 54KW and store about 16KWh of electricity. The electric batteries propel the front wheels to a top speed of 120kph with a range of about 105km at a speed of 90kph. Acceleration too is pretty decent with the designers claiming that the vehicle will hit a speed of 50kph in about 4.7 seconds.
