Renault 4 Redesigned concept EV harvests renewable solar energy

Renault 4 Ever

Romanian transportation designer Vlad Iorgulescu has come up with a concept vehicle dubbed “Renault 4 Redesigned”. The concept vehicle is a perfect amalgamation of candor and tenacity of old times with design, technology, and renewable power use of modern times. The Renault 4 has enjoyed the reputation of being the third bestselling model of car across the world, and has become a style icon in itself. The participants in the competition were asked to respect the identity of the old Renault model and create something new out of it. Now this was a challenge for the designers, as the old Renault model was based on the principal of functionality and minimalistic use.

The design presented by Vlad worked well toward maintaining the compact and robust body of the original vehicle and yet adding a flavor of modern times by making a clean and solid shape of the car. Technologically speaking, an electric engine with liquid rechargeable batteries is used, giving it zero emission credentials. The hood of the car has an additional solar panel fitted on it to power all the basic functions of the car like lighting, air conditioning and entertainment system.

“Renault 4 redesigned” aims to generate green energy and its production material is also sourced from recycled items like glass, recycled metal, polypropylene, cotton, and plastic that is sans carbon and derived from plants. The concept is an innovative one which has tried to merge the rich historical lineage of the car with contemporary aesthetics and sustainable designs – among others.
