Recycling makes a major comeback

A UK Based company called Closed Loop Recycling is opening a plant that will take plastic bottles, process them into raw food grade material and send them back out to companies like Coca Cola. Years ago, people would take their glass Coke bottles in for recycling and make a small amount of money. Since plastic replaced glass many years ago, no easy affordable recycling system was being used to take the place of glass. Since most recycling never makes it to the recycling bin anyway and plastic is considered one of the most wasteful of the things we throw away, it makes sense to start looking forward into how to address this.

China has recently developed a “vending machine” like recycling unit where you deposit your bottles and get cash. This offers the consumer even more of an incentive to recycle and now with this new process it’s even easier for companies to recycle too.

The company is using a technology invented by America’s own United Resource Recovery Corporation (URRC), which uses a patented manufacturing process that is of high quality, environmentally friendly and cost efficient. The raw recyclable material is then used to manufacture the same types of bottles and food plastics used by companies thereby “Closing the Loop” as its stated on the Closed Loop Recycling website. The technology can also be tailored for different industries like healthcare, commercial business, events, and retail outlets.
