Though I normally don’t like hoarding packaging of products like juices, cookies or soap and would never actually consider buying a ‘new’ product developed from old packaging without knowing that a stern chemical sterilization was involved, but this new range of recycled packaging goodies made by designer Anke Weiss really caught my eye. It was kinda hard to miss them too considering they were lamps and really innovative ones at that. Bring the packaging back from the point where it almost becomes garbage, Weiss devised a way to have the lamps light from inside to highlight beautiful imagery embossed on the outside via a lovely play of light. It’s a lovely concept for a lamp alone but to think that the feat was achieved through recycling makes the effort even more special.
