POSCO ICT Smart Grid Exhibition educates about renewable energy

The POSCO ICT Smart Grid Exhibition Hall at the 2012 International Energy Saving Expo might have excited green lovers. The Korean steelmaker has set up the exhibition hall to provide a broad awareness about all cutting-edge technologies for efficient production, distribution and consumption of renewable energy. Visitors to the exhibition hall might have left with a better understanding on various renewable energy production methods and their applications.

In the exhibition hall, visitors are shown a ten-minute animated movie to improve their consciousness on the advanced smart-grid technologies. There is an electricity flow chart inside the hall, which gives a bird’s-eye view of the whole process of generating power from various renewable energy sources and its distribution. The mobile exhibition truck mounts solar panels, which produce the energy for the solar-power zone inside it.

Lots of other exhibits and events inside the exhibition hall will increase the knowledge of the visitors on different energy sources. Visitors to the POSCO ICT will come out with a better understanding on the need for the world to turn green and sustainable. Interestingly, before entering the exhibition hall, visitors are expected to register their names and make their signs on an electronic book. Well, the device replaces paper, which is indeed a symbolic green effort.

The POSCO ICT Smart Grid Exhibition Hall almost resembles the mobile smart-grid truck, which we found in the G20 summit at the Jeju Smart Grid Demonstration Site in 2010. Hundreds of visitors went through the POSCO ICT exhibition hall during the 2012 International Energy Saving Expo.
