‘Pebble’ is a solar powered food heater concept created by Laura Pendelle. It operates by using spray on solar cells, a cutting edge technology that is currently under development. The Pebble’s base contains an induction heating device, which heats the food by creating an electromagnetic field between the coil and the metal container, thus providing almost immediate heat transfer. The heating stops as soon as the container is removed. Using the solar cell spray technology, energy can be produced even on a cloudy day. This new design might change our attitude towards domestic electricity by incorporating solar technology into our daily routine.
