Panasonic unveils solar-powered emergency LED lamp and battery charger

Solar Battery ChargerPanasonic launches a solar panel powered emergency LED light and battery charger dubbed, the BG-BL01. The device that integrates the same HIT solar panel, which is used in households, is capable to power the three LEDs and to charge its two AA batteries. As well, the device has an option to recharge USB-powered gadgets including smartphones.

The device is capable to charge a 500mA USB gadget in one hour and twenty minutes, Panasonic says. In the meanwhile, solar panel charger requires almost 15 hours for full charging in help of sunlight. But if you plug in the device with electricity via its USB port, you can charge it in seven hours.

Interestingly, the Panasonic BG-BL01 LED lamp is a splash proof device. It is expected to hit the Japanese market by the end of August 2011. It may carry a price tag of almost $75, the Japanese technology company said in its official statement. The BG-BL01 LED lamp technology from Panasonic is part of a new awakening in the way the energy is consumed. People are widely in look for some nature-friendly alternatives to save the mother earth along with the technological advancement of human beings.
