For quite some time now, environmentalists have been urging the world to abandon western toilets and try and adapt to the Asian, water saving pots. But nobody wants to do their potty in the uncomfortable Asian style pots. Consequently, the water saving brigades’ words went unheeded. Now, finally the Japanese bath fittings Giant Toto has come out with it’s Neorest AH type tankless toilet. Now, don’t you worry, you still will get water to flush off after use but this innovative toilet design will save a considerable amount of water while doing so.

The hybrid Neorest uses water from both a toilet tank as well as an external water supply line and is innovatively designed to use just 5.5 litres instead of the 13 litres that the conventional pots use. Buttwarming gets all new meaning as the Neorest even has a seat that is warmed. If you thought that’s all about it, how about this? Lazy bums will now get lazier as the toilet seat uses a combination of warm water to clean up the user’s backside and even dries it with warm air. Phew, we don’t want to test that one. And if you wanna catch the Neaorest in action, you can head off to the Japanese Design 2008 Innovation to be held in Milano from April 16th to the 20th this year.
