Next-Generation Supercomputers to Predict Climate Change efficiently!

defense advanced research projects agency 9After all the studies and predictions are made of the future effects of global warming, it is perhaps the turn of the tech-savvy scientists to pull out their arms to fight climate change. The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has already geared up to build the next generation ‘Climate Change-predicting’ supercomputers!

To build these supercomputers, the agency has tapped IBM and Cray Inc. for four-year contracts for around $500 million. The new supercomputers will

predict changes in earth’s climate accurately
model the entire biological systems
perform other tasks that are beyond current, state-of-the-art machines
