After all the studies and predictions are made of the future effects of global warming, it is perhaps the turn of the tech-savvy scientists to pull out their arms to fight climate change. The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has already geared up to build the next generation ‘Climate Change-predicting’ supercomputers!
To build these supercomputers, the agency has tapped IBM and Cray Inc. for four-year contracts for around $500 million. The new supercomputers will
predict changes in earth’s climate accurately
model the entire biological systems
perform other tasks that are beyond current, state-of-the-art machines
