New hydrogen storage system with 13 wt.% gravimetric storage density

lithium coated bucky balls

Here is a new potential material for storing hydrogen. The new hydrogen storage system is applied for vehicles, based on lithium-coated bucky-balls.

The new material is promising in the way that it has a gravimetric storage density of 13 wt.% & mdash. This exceeds the storage target of the Department of Energy — with a total system gravimetric storage density of 9 wt.% and volumetric density of 70 grams/liter.
