Eco Factor: Astral power tower to transmit lunar solar energy to earth.
Bryna Anderson, a graduate student from Columbia University and an ardent follower of American physicist Dr. David Criswell, has gotten near to the Lunar Solar Power System through an innovative design. The system, a massive astral power tower is supposed to provide the equivalent of about two kilowatts of electricity per person.
The tower design was hailed well at the 2010 Moon Capital International Design Challenge and thus, emerged as winner at the competition. The concept design involves energy collection on the lunar surface using photovoltaic converters and its subsequent transmission to Earth via microwave generators. However, the project doesn’t seem to be feasible since it involves huge construction constraints.
