With soaring price of crude oil in international market everyone would love something like this to actually be possible in their own cars too. Yes, this would help us consume less fossil fuel and yes it would help us to reduce the carbon emissions that are proving to be our biggest peril today. But for the common guy this is more than just appealing as it actually saves a lot of cash for him and it actually helps him get better mileage out of his car. Now as much as this seems for the non-environment reasons, it is such technology that actually seeps through to the people and helps the planet.

John Weston’s 1992 Geo Storm doesn’t look like much on the outside. But there are some people that say it’s what’s under a car’s hood that matters. Weston showed NBC2 a version of his air vapor flow system where instead of liquid fuel; only vapors go to the engine. This new system apparently gives 463 miles/gallon and while NBC2 has no way of verifying the claim yet, it surely would be something groundbreaking when this actually materializes.

Weston says he pumped too much fuel into the system with a makeshift switch. A few seconds later, the performance improved. Weston also hooked up the system to a common generator and says it more than triples the performance. Now, the backyard mechanic is looking for investors so he can eventually take his invention public. In the meantime, he says you might see his car on the highway. Some though say that depriving the engine of liquid fuel will eventually destroy it. Let us wait and see on this one!
