SolFocus to Build 3 MW Solar Concentrator Plant inSpain’s Institute of Concentration Photovoltaics System’s 3 MW project in Castilla-LaMancha gets its first CPV array. Solar energy solutions-provider, SolFocus, will be installing the project’s first power-producing system, the 200kW of the .5MW. This noble venture bids to accelerate the development and adoption of CPV technology.

Thanks to the government of Castilla-La Mancha for sponsoring the ISFOC project. Dr. Pedro Banda, Director General of the ISFOC said,

This is a very important occasion as it brings the industry one step closer towards commercial deployment of CPV technologies. For this unprecedented and ambitious program, the ISFOC has selected CPV technologies that are the most advanced and have the brightest futures. SolFocus’ first installation marks the official launch of the power-generation phase of the program.

This approach taken up by the ISFOC is truly innovative, creating a paradigm for similar projects across the world. Hope, with SolFocus’ selection of the ISFOC project, the environment-friendly technology can be commercialized in a considerably large-scale.
