With the conventional sources of power running out, people are on the constant lookout for renewable sources of energy. The US Dept. of Energy, and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) together found that it will be cheaper to use a rooftop giant cooler of ice, than a conventional air conditioning machine.
So, the rooftop chillers are the answer to the power problem. Just think about it! In the peak time of the year when the mercury is rising, you need to really keep your cool. So you decide to keep that air conditioner on for longer periods charging up the electricity bill. Instead, you might want to consider the E3 Venure’s Ice Bear chiller system.
I think this is a great system. The Ice bear is designed such a way that it will reduce the peak electricity cost. In order to achieve this goal, the Ice bear simply reserves power generated during off peak periods. This power stored can be used during the peak daytime period when you need maximum cooling.
The Ice Bear machine makes and preserves ice at night, when the electricity costs are cheaper and temperatures are low. As of now, the concept is mostly applied to homes in Los Angeles, California. The company predicts that the system can reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions by up to 12 pounds and Nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 9.28 grams each day.Thus, lowering the smog effects by half. This is extremely imperative for big cities like LA where pollution is a big problem.
