Eco Factor: Sustainable tower responds to the natural environment.

Acknowledging the value of ITC’s focus on sustainability, HKS has proposed a green tower that will serve as the new Corporate Tower for the company. Standing 26-stories tall, the one-million-square-foot tower will be built in the city of Bangalore in India and will aim to achieve a LEED Platinum certification for the use of sustainable elements.

The tower will include a prominent green lung of vegetation that will grow upwards through double and triple height spaces at intervals along the interior façade of the architecture. The green sense of the tower is supported by other sustainable features that include a double-skin-system to insulate the building from the heat of the sun and still allow the benefit of extensive natural light.

The pyramid-inspired slope of the building will act as a chimney to draw breezes through the building while operable windows allow the cross-ventilation of work spaces and give the building’s occupants control of natural air. The energy-saving architecture will help in providing superior work environment for employees.
