Eco Factor: Concept generator harvests renewable solar and wind energy.
We always encourage our readers to stop wasting energy and make use of renewable sources for energy wherever possible. However, since many people now live in apartments in high-rise buildings, it’s not always possible for homeowners to install a rooftop solar array or a wind turbine. Industrial designer Jonathan Globerson has come up with a solution for such homeowners in the form of a renewable energy generator called the Greenerator.
The Greenerator is equipped with a vertical axis wind turbine and flexible solar panels and can be installed in balconies. The energy generated by the system can be used to power a computer or other appliances within the home. The designer believes that each unit can reduce your electricity bills by 6 percent and can save 2000 pounds of CO2 emissions annually.
