The people in the little town of Musiri, Tamil Nadu may have just created an opening for that ever elusive dream job. As part of an initiative to improve hygiene in the area, Ecosan (Ecological Sanitation) is encouraging the use of its toiletry facilities by actually paying its patrons for using them! In contrast to many other public latrines which charge ‘customers’ for its use, this new campaign is a refreshingly different and effective means of promoting local sanitation. But what is done with all this expensive urine? That loophole has been tied up nicely with a local agricultural university testing its efficiency as a fertilizer. Rumor has it that more toilets are to be put up shortly, so keep your eyes peeled to make some easy money.
