If electric cars are a success and can penetrate the auto segment, so can the solar powered cars that are the cutting-edge in the renewable sector. Suggesting an amazing way of blending both into a green combination, a group of Georgia Tech students Solar Jackets has introduced an electric and solar powered car at the Buckhead Eco-Collection.

The super car, which was created by converting an Audi into a “solar-assisted electric vehicle,” has two batteries and a charger that can be plugged into an electric socket. A smaller battery is there for running systems, such as power windows, steering and brakes along with supplement power. This battery is charged with the help of solar panels.

Tech aerospace engineering student Corbin Klett of Buford said that student team is working hard on the futuristic design of solar powered vehicle to compete in the upcoming World Solar Challenge in Australia.
