ECOnetic has the capacity to bring about a new revolution with its fuel efficiency, eliminating the need for hybrids. The car is powered by a 1.6 liter Duratorq TDCi diesel engine. The car boasts 161lb-ft of torque and achieves 86mp. The carbon emissions are also improved and when compared to the Prius’s 89g/km, they stand at 87g/km.

Other highlights of the technology that ECOnetic is integrated with includes auto start and stop, an eco mode, optimized gear ratio, lower suspension and special engine calibration, etc. Low rolling resistance tires ensure a smoother ride and easier handling. The car will be available in two versions, one with three doors and the other with five doors.

When developing the ECOnetic technology, Ford wanted to make a car that was both customer centric and futuristic. They wanted to incorporate fuel economy, lesser carbon emissions along with an overall reduced cost of ownership. The car today in its final form delivers more than just simple technology; it has a great design and stunning driving dynamics.
