Eurojust Headquarters in Hague to be laced with green gardens and natural lighting

The central area of the International Zone in Hague is going to get another structure that will be at the heart of handling disputes that stem between nations of Europe. Eurojust is a part of European Union and handles matters of judicial co-operation between various nations of the region. Designers have been asked to come with plans for its new headquarters in Hague and we have a winner already with the joint proposal of Mecanoo and Royal Haskoning walking away with the privilege of bringing the project to life.

Mecanoo / Royal Haskoning to Design New Eurojust HQ in The Hague

The proposed design though has more winners than one with its green outlook and use of its surroundings to cut down on energy consumption. The new edifice for Eurojust will be sporting grand gardens that will continue the flowing green design of the Euro Headquarters that already exist in Hague. The building will be designed with low-rise and that will help it fit in with the surroundings that already exist. A green garden that will also sport dunes and ponds will add to both the aesthetics and the green outlook of the design.

Glass panels that can be adjusted not only present for great views but also ensure that natural lighting is allowed sufficiently inside. This helps reduce the reliance on artificial lighting needs. There are two levels underground that act as conference spaces and while this helps the building scale down to the same level as those that surround it, it also offers a beautiful staircase descent that reflects the waves of the pond on its ceiling and gives a wonderful view of the green garden. All this really makes it a quality addition to the existing green hub in Hague.
