Stanford researchers come up with revolutionary long-lasting Lithium-Ion batteries

We could soon forget our worries over gadgets frequently thanks to the recent development by Stanford researchers. They have come up with a way to extend the capacity of the Li-ION batteries by ten times. The researchers have replaced the battery’s carbon anode with silicon to achieve the boost in capacity using silicon stored in nanowire tubes that resist fracturing as the silicon swells and shrinks in proportion to the ion-load. So, you can expect your gadgets to work ten times longer without worries. The researchers have filed a patent application and I am sure battery manufacturers would be queuing up to adopt this revolutionary technology.
