Taiwan-based solar panel designer and manufacturer recently developed leaf-shaped solar panels and now the manufacturer is finding some place for its pentagonal solar panels. To prove that solar panels can be integrated into any object that we interact with on a daily basis, the company has integrated PV cells on a football.
The world’s first solar football includes solar panels on the traditional black pentagon-shaped leather patches, making the ball easily recognizable. The ball’s solar panels power built-in motion sensors and audio devices. The prototype ball emits a tracking sound each time it is kicked.
