A lightweight and aerodynamic prototype of Avion automobile has successfully set yet another fuel economy record. The car’s designer Craig Henderson drove the fun to drive sports car for 1,478 miles on 12.4 gallons of diesel achieving an astounding 119.1 mpg.
The car that which weighs just 1,500 pounds and packs 800cc diesel engine requires just 4 hp to maintain speeds of 55 miles per hour. It has finally entered the Automotive X-Prize and relying on the car’s fuel-saving abilities alone Henderson believes that the car could win buyers soon.
