Eco Tech: Iran inaugurates its first eco friendly solar power plant

Eco Factor: CSP plant generates green electricity in cheaper and efficient way. Deriving inspiration from good works is both beneficial and wise. However, if generated by someone least expected, it is no doubt surprising. Here we are talking about the inauguration of Iran’s first solar plant. The CSP system includes parabolic mirrors which focus the sun onto a tube of water. That results in the generation of steam after the tube gets super-heated. Then the steam in the tube is used to turn electricity-generating turbines. This method is a simple and cheaper way as compared to other systems that use PV panels. It’s not the first in the world of its kind. We already have one in Spain and many other CPS plants in other parts of world are being constructed that can generate electricity up to 20 MW. The Dark Side: Although CPS plants are cheaper, simple and more efficient than others, they are successful only in regions where the sky is clear sunshine is strong. Via: GreenProphet
