Eco Factor: 1986 motorcycle modded to sport an electric engine.

An ingenious mind in Santa Cruz has converted an old 1986 make Honda motorcycle to run on green fuel and have no emissions at all. Based in Santa Cruz, Geoff Bjorgan, holds that green mind with which he fully modified the Honda motorcycle into a 120 lbs electric, pedal-assist bike.

Other than the removal of the company-fitted engine, Geoff had to use a bike’s parts to give the motorcycle the pedal-assist features, electric motors that wind up to 36,000rpm, a ten-speed transmission and an oil lamp for the headlight. Geoff claims that the bike, though heavier than his liking, manages to cruise at 21mph, which is good enough for probably a trip to the grocery store and back.
