I always wondered as to what happens to pedal-boats after they’ve completed their life and are no longer safe for the open water. While most of them are nothing more than a cluster of plastic and metal, some get a new life to transform the lives of others.

An eco-minded engineer, Guy Favand saw the potential of a trashed pedal-powered boat as a washing machine that doesn’t require electricity. The transformation process did take some tiring hours, but the end result was ecofriendly. The final product was donated to a Haitian orphanage located on an island without electricity.
