Eco Factor: Energy-efficient recyclable dwellings.

With the increase in the cost of energy and environmental consciousness, designers have been tempted to develop residences which that are energy-efficient and have a minimal impact on the environment. Designer Mark A Bendit has come up with a new design dubbed the Millennium Home, which is made of recyclable and recycled materials, ensuring a low carbon footprint.

The design is quite different from the houses we are accustomed to living in. Designed to have a dome shape, these houses are elegant, energy-efficient and resistant to tornadoes, hurricanes and hail. The designer also envisions their use as post-disaster relief dwellings, as the houses can be easily transported via cargo planes or helicopters.
