EcoSaver Turbine Hybrid Buses to hop on for an eco friendly ride

miniturbine bus Red buses will finally go green somewhere in America! However what’s the real story with these hybrid buses? Do you think that they are actually cleaner and more fuel efficient than their conventional diesel counterparts? Yes, based on technology similar to that used in hybrid cars and trucks, these buses will be undoubtedly be more eco-friendly. Just recently Capstone Turbine Corporation, the world’s leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems announced that it received a 150 unit order for C30 Capstone MicroTurbines(R) to be deployed in ECOSaver IV hybrid electric buses manufactured by DesignLine International. Though it’s still a mystery about who going to receive these green buses, the plant’s location at North Carolina implies that the buses are probably bound for American metropolises. DesignLine’s ECOSaver IV hybrid electric buses feature innovative styling, exceptional ride quality with improved gas mileage and lower emissions. During zero emission mode the noise level is near zero and with the Capstone unit running the noise level is approximately 75% lower than a traditional diesel bus. And they also want us to believe that there will be a 40% reduction in overall lifecycle cost compared to a traditional diesel bus. The vehicles designed and built by DesignLine will feature wide entry doors, super low floors, and spacious and comfortable interiors so as to woo more people to ride on it. Via GoodCleanTech
