Eco Factor: Revolving restaurant in Switzerland uses solar energy.

Leysin’s revolving restaurant “Le Kuklos” will now offer panoramic views of La Berneuse with a system powered entirely by solar energy. The restaurant, constructed at a height of 2048m, has installed 10 solar panels that help it revolve 360 degrees within 1.5 hours.

The authorities are also planning the integration of a vertical axis windmill to exploit wind power as well. Once the project is finished, the restaurant will be the first in the region to be powered entirely by renewable energy.

The restaurant has space for 250 people and turns to offer breathtaking views of Lake Geneva, the Rhone Valley and Mont Blanc.
