Eco Factor: Water purifier produces 14,400 gallons of clean water every day using solar energy.

Chemviron Midwest has announced that the company has produced the world’s first solar-powered water purification system that could have a major impact in providing clean drinking water to the masses. The system was developed by Chemviron Midwest working in conjunction with Cardinal Resources.

The 15-foot-high and 25-foot-long water purification system, dubbed Redbird, can be enclosed completely in a shipping container to be easily transported in various parts of the world. The creators believe that the system can churn out over 14,400 gallons of fresh drinking water in 24 hours, using nothing more than the abundant energy of the sun.

The completely modular system can be connected with other units if the demand of clean water is more than what a single unit can supply. The Redbird system is being shipped to China to be put into operation.
