Eco factor: Bikers using energy from their cranking to run electronic devices.

Using kinetic energy to power gadgets has caught everyone’s attention lately, and pedal power is a fun idea that does generate usable amounts of electricity. A group of bikers in Robson Square in downtown Vancouver has come up with a green way of listening to music. With their bikes, they are powering two turntables and a microphone. More precisely, the energy generated from their cranking is being used to run a MacBook, one turntable and some speakers.

While generating electricity from pedaling is not a new thing to us, it’s good to see that people are actually using pedal power to create clean energy.
