Eco Factor: Two-wheeler powered by a low-emission hybrid engine.
Piaggio has been into the hybrid market for quite some time now, and the company has showcased yet another hybrid vehicle – the two-wheeler USB (Urban Sport Bike). The USB is powered by a low-emission GDI two-stroke engine and an electric motor.
With a 50km all-electric range and a top speed of 60kph provided by a 2.5KWh lithium-polymer battery pack, the USB offers 156mpg and a top speed of 100kph when running with the gas engine turned on. The company claims that the small engines offer a combined torque of 200Nm, which makes the 130kg USB reach 100kph faster than an average performance car.
